Creating events that connect people, purpose and place

Posted on 7 Aug 2026

Some venues carry a significance that extends far beyond their walls. Recently we created an event for our client, RSL LifeCare, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, a place that honours the service, sacrifice and resilience of Australia’s veterans. For an organisation that has stood alongside veterans, older Australians and their families for more than 110 years, there could be no more meaningful setting to introduce the next chapter of its retirement living offering.

More than 45 guests joined us to learn about St. Quentin Place, RSL LifeCare’s new retirement community in Kaleen. The afternoon featured an inspiring address from Daniel Gannon, Executive Director of the Retirement Living Council Australia, who spoke about the role retirement living plays in helping older Australians live with greater independence, dignity, connection and purpose.

Daniel also reflected on the significance of the community’s name, St. Quentin Place, which honours the Battle of St Quentin Canal, which was a defining moment in Australia’s military history. It was a fitting reminder that the values of courage, resilience and community that shaped our nation’s past continue to inspire places designed to support older Australians today.

Thank you to RSL LifeCare for trusting us to create such a meaningful event, and to Daniel Gannon for sharing such an insightful perspective on the future of retirement living. It was also wonderful to have Christopher Rooke and Tim Grover representing the One Fell Swoop team on the day.

Events like these remind us that retirement living is about so much more than homes. It’s about creating communities where people can continue to live with confidence, connection and purpose. As this event was such a success, with huge interest in the apartments and townhouses at St. Quentin Place, we’re holding another one in a few weeks!
